Closing Speech
By Moses V. Samuel, Festival Director, TAHRIFF 2025
Distinguished guests, partners, filmmakers, participants, ladies and gentlemen,
As we bring this historic edition of the Taraba Human Rights International Film Festival (TAHRIFF) 2025 to a close, my heart is filled with gratitude and hope.
Over the past few days, we have witnessed the true power of cinema—not just as entertainment, but as a voice for justice, a mirror of our shared humanity, and a bridge between cultures.
This festival has been a celebration of creativity, courage, and collaboration.
Together, we have seen how film can challenge, inspire, and empower—especially the youth, women, and children whose voices must continue to be amplified on the global stage.
I want to specially thank our incredible partners who stood with us on this journey:
Movies That Matter – for your unwavering commitment to human rights through film.
Asian World Film Festival – for your global vision and cultural bridge-building.
SumTV – for your dedication to amplifying African voices.
Bantu Gazette – for your vibrant storytelling and cultural promotion.
And the Indonesian Embassy in Nigeria – for honoring us with your participation and strengthening cultural ties between nations.
Your partnership has enriched TAHRIFF and ensured that our message reaches far beyond Taraba, Nigeria, and Africa, to the entire world.
To our volunteers, filmmakers, cultural groups, and every attendee—you are the heartbeat of this festival.
Without you, TAHRIFF would not have been possible.
As we close, let us remember that this is not an end, but a beginning.
The conversations started here, the films we have seen, and the partnerships we have forged will continue to ripple outwards, shaping lives and communities.
On behalf of the entire organizing committee, I say thank you.
Thank you for believing in the vision that cinema can be a catalyst for change.
See you all at TAHRIFF 2026.
May the stories continue, and may the change never stop.
Thank you, and God bless you all.
